Massive failure in 'Aeroflot's' operations

On July 28, a serious failure occurred in the operations of the Russian airline 'Aeroflot', leading to the cancellation of some flights and passengers experiencing delays at Sheremetyevo Airport. Although the airline officially reported technical malfunctions, information about a possible cyberattack surfaced. The hacker group Silent Crow and the Belarusian organization 'Cyber Partisans BY' claimed responsibility for the incident.

According to reports, at least 49 flights were canceled from Moscow airport, including destinations to Yekaterinburg, Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Minsk, and other cities. There was a significant accumulation of passengers at the terminals.

'Aeroflot' reported a technical failure in its IT infrastructure. The hackers claim they gained access to the company's internal systems earlier, including databases pertaining to flight information, personnel control, and employee phone conversations.

Consequences of the cyberattack

The hackers reported that they destroyed about 7000 servers, causing a failure in the key systems of the airline. Currently, there is no confirmation of this cyberattack from independent sources, but it is widely discussed in the media, which do not rule out the possibility of external interference in the company's operations.

As a result of the massive failure in 'Aeroflot's' operations, several dozen flights were canceled, leading to significant inconvenience for passengers and raising questions about cybersecurity in the aviation industry.
