Rocket strike on Kryvyi Rih: the story of a boy who dreamed of football

A boy who dreamed of football
Війна забрала у хлопця мрію стати професійним футболістом.

According to Спортивний комітет: A boy named Kyrylo always dreamed of becoming a football player. He was a big fan of FC Kryvbas, attended training at the Youth Sports School No. 1 Kryvbas-84, and cheered for his favorite team with his father. Coaches described him as an active, attentive, and diligent boy.

But a tragedy occurred. On November 11, 2024, Russian rockets struck Kryvyi Rih, claiming the lives of almost the entire Kulik family. Only his father, Maksym, survived. In the devastated house were Kyrylo, his mother, and two younger sisters. Unfortunately, the house collapsed, and rescuers searched for over 14 hours to recover the bodies of the children. Among the tragic deceased was the young footballer with a bright future.

Farewell and Memory

At the funeral on November 14, 2024, hundreds of people gathered - relatives, friends, neighbors, and the entire football community to which Kyrylo belonged. Everyone remembered him as a talented, polite, and well-mannered boy. His memory remained at the stadium where he loved to watch the game with his father.

Now at the Hirnyk Stadium, a figure of Kyrylo has been installed - an eternal memory of the boy who did not get to fulfill his football dreams. The coach, teammates, and townspeople pay tribute to the lost in the best way possible - let us remember Kyrylo and all the innocent children who became victims of war.

Eternal memory of Kyrylo and all the innocently killed children.
