Elon Musk’s Bold Initiative

According to НВ — Техно: Next year, Elon Musk intends to gift one share of SpaceX stock to every child in the United States. This ambitious plan could cost him upwards of $10 billion. Currently, a single SpaceX share is valued at $146, approximately 6,500 Ukrainian hryvnias. With over 70 million minors living in the U.S., according to data from the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics, this initiative represents a massive financial commitment.

This announcement follows Anthropic’s recent decision to establish a public benefit fund by allocating 5% of its shares post-IPO to support nonprofit organizations and provide direct payments to select groups. On October 18, Musk publicly encouraged Anthropic on the social media platform X to distribute funds directly to individuals, emphasizing the importance of tangible support.

Philanthropic Efforts by Musk

Elon Musk is also actively involved in philanthropy through the Musk Foundation, which ranks as the fifth-largest private foundation in the U.S. Nearly 60% of the Foundation’s funding has been directed to The Foundation, managed by Musk’s financial advisor Jared Birchall. With an estimated net worth of $1 trillion, Musk possesses the financial resources to back such large-scale philanthropic ventures.

'This is exactly what I will be doing,' Musk stated.

By providing shares to children, Musk’s plan could reshape the financial futures of countless American families, offering them a stake in one of the world’s most innovative companies. This move highlights the growing influence of private individuals in philanthropy and social impact, at a time when corporate social responsibility is gaining increased attention. The public’s response to this initiative may serve as a significant gauge of attitudes toward charitable giving and investing in the next generation’s opportunities.
