On May 30 and 31, the Russian-installed occupation administration at the plant alleged that Ukrainian forces had attacked the facility, reporting damage to the turbine hall of the sixth power unit on May 30 and a strike on the plant’s transport workshop the following day.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Southern Defense Forces have categorically denied these accusations, calling them a smokescreen to conceal Russia’s illegal occupation of Europe’s largest nuclear power station. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry pointed out that such disinformation campaigns tend to intensify ahead of meetings of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
