Israel Strikes Gaza: Hamas Accused of Breaching Ceasefire
Israel Attacks Gaza Strip Over Breach of Ceasefire Agreements
According to glavcom.ua: Israel responded to a breach of the ceasefire agreement by Hamas, launching strikes on the Gaza Strip. Reuters reports that this has become the next test of the already fragile truce.
Local medical services reported at least 19 fatalities due to Israeli airstrikes. One of the country's military officials noted that these strikes were a response to attacks from Hamas.
“We delivered heavy strikes in response to Hamas’s breach of the ceasefire,” said an Israeli representative.
The ceasefire agreement was brokered by the U.S. on October 10 and led to a halt in hostilities, but both sides accuse each other of violating the agreement. U.S. President Donald Trump believes that peace in the Middle East could be everlasting and urged Hamas to immediately begin the return of the bodies of the fallen hostages.
As a result of Hamas's breach of the ceasefire agreement, Israel responded with attacks on the Gaza Strip, resulting in several deaths. The situation remains tense as both sides accuse each other of violations of the agreement and continue military operations. The brokered ceasefire by the U.S. remains under threat, adding more uncertainty to the conflict in the Middle East.
