According to hvylya.net: Unfortunately, the potato market in Ukraine has suffered a serious crisis due to the war and the occupation of southern regions. According to data from the Food Research Centre, the situation with planted areas and potato production has worsened - they have decreased by 21% and 11% respectively. This has led to a significant increase in potato prices for consumers.
Experts note that the 'low' price point for potatoes currently lasts only 2–4 months, compared to 10 months before the war began.
Domestic potatoes, which are primarily grown in the southern part of the country, are now almost absent from the market. As for potato imports, the situation has also changed - while previously the main suppliers were Belarus and Russia, now countries like Azerbaijan, Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, and Georgia are the main sources.
