Conviction of a Kyiv resident for illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances

According to Главком: A Kyiv resident was sentenced to 9 years and 6 months of imprisonment for illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances in particularly large quantities. The court verdict was announced on December 31. The accused, who is 44 years old, attempted to sell psychotropic substances PVP and methamphetamine, with a total weight exceeding 114 grams.

The man was detained during an attempt to sell part of the goods prepared for sale. Psychotropic substances were also found at the accused's home. The final punishment includes property confiscation. At the time the verdict was pronounced, the accused was in custody.

Activation of the fight against drug trafficking in Ukraine

This case occurred against the backdrop of increased efforts to combat drug trafficking in Ukraine. In particular, on December 24, the State Customs Service of Ukraine uncovered a man who attempted to transport 4 kg of amphetamine across the state border. It is worth noting that capital dog handlers seized over 50 kg of narcotic substances within 11 months of 2025, indicating a tightening of control over illegal drug circulation in the country.
