Kyiv on High Alert for New Russian Strikes; EU Diplomats Refuse Evacuation
Emergency Services in Kyiv Brace for Escalation
According to Главком: Ukraine’s Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko, has confirmed that Kyiv’s operational units are fully prepared for fresh attacks from the Russian Federation, following recent warnings issued by Moscow’s Foreign Ministry. He made the remarks on the sidelines of the 4th International Summit of Cities and Regions, stressing that all services stand ready to respond to any threat.
Just two days ago, Kyiv and several other Ukrainian regions came under assault, with approximately 30 impact sites and fires recorded. Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated it intends to launch systematic strikes on defense industry facilities in Kyiv, as well as on what it calls “decision-making centers.”
“When the attack on Kyiv and other parts of our country began two days ago, within just tens of minutes our services were already at work, primarily focused on freeing our citizens… We accomplished that mission. The State Emergency Service and police immediately started evacuating people and helping them leave their homes.”

The minister also expressed confidence in the readiness of security forces for future threats:
“I am certain: no matter what comes, we will be able to properly deploy our forces and resources, which are sufficient in Kyiv, and we are ready for any terrorist attacks.”

Meanwhile, ambassadors from European Union member states have rejected ultimatums and threats from Russia’s Foreign Ministry, reaffirming their refusal to evacuate Kyiv. This demonstrates the international community’s determination to remain in Ukraine despite Moscow’s intimidation tactics.
Ongoing Crisis in Ukraine
The situation across Ukraine remains tense due to ongoing threats from the Russian Federation. Recent statements and actions by Ukrainian authorities underscore their commitment to ensuring public safety and countering potential attacks. Continued international backing, especially from the EU, remains a crucial element, as the resolve to stay in Ukraine sends a clear message of solidarity with the Ukrainian people during these difficult times.
As the situation in Kyiv intensifies, experts are urging residents to prepare for potential devastation and consider their options for leaving the capital.
