Road Resurfacing Project in Kyiv

According to Главком: A major road resurfacing project is set to begin on Kyrylivska Street in Kyiv's historic Podil district. Starting April 1, 2026, traffic will be partially and progressively restricted between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The work will cover the section of road from Petropavlivska Street to Bilytska Street.

Separately, traffic on Brovarskiy Avenue will also be restricted until May 15, 2026, due to the reconstruction of an overpass. These works are taking place at the intersection with Budivelnykiv Street, starting from the McDonald's restaurant (Brovarskiy Avenue, 27) and extending to Heorhiya Narbuta Avenue.

Drivers and pedestrians are advised to account for these traffic changes and plan their routes in advance to avoid inconvenience during the construction period.

Significance of the Roadworks

This resurfacing is a key part of ongoing efforts to upgrade the capital's infrastructure, which aims to enhance road safety and improve driving conditions. The traffic restrictions are likely to increase congestion in adjacent neighborhoods, so motorists should exercise caution and allow extra time for their journeys.

It is recommended to review alternative routes to minimize disruption while these infrastructure projects are underway.

As the city prepares for the upcoming roadworks on Kyrylivska Street, it's important to stay informed about other ongoing infrastructure changes. Recently, Kyiv announced additional road closures for repairs starting March 25, which could further impact traffic flow in the area. Staying updated on these developments will help residents and commuters navigate the city more effectively during this busy period.
