UBTECH Launches Large-Scale Humanoid Robot Factory in Liuzhou, China
State-of-the-Art Humanoid Robot Manufacturing Hub Opens in Liuzhou
According to НВ — Техно: Chinese robotics firm UBTECH has inaugurated a sprawling 14,000-square-meter facility in Liuzhou dedicated to mass-producing humanoid robots. Production began on September 12, aiming to manufacture over 10,000 units annually. Each robot takes roughly 10 minutes to assemble. The factory focuses on the Walker S and Cruzr robot series.
Advanced Manufacturing Techniques and Automation
The assembly line heavily relies on robotic arms and rotary stations to automate the screw-tightening process, with each robot requiring more than 2,000 screws of various types. Remarkably, some tasks on-site are performed by the humanoid robots themselves, including material handling and pallet loading and unloading. Automated transport systems and unmanned forklifts manage material movement throughout the plant.
Once assembled, robots are transferred to an automated 3D storage system where each unit receives a unique serial number. This tracking enables detailed monitoring of components, assembly parameters, and quality inspections. The factory was developed in partnership with Siemens Digital Industries Software, integrating cutting-edge technology into its processes. A digital twin-a virtual replica of the entire facility-is employed for design and operational management, alongside Siemens Plant Simulation software, which models production areas, workstations, warehouses, and automated transport routes.
The Yanshee MOM manufacturing operations management system coordinates production planning and enterprise workflow. UBTECH faces competition from industry leaders like Tesla and Figure AI in the humanoid robotics market. Actual output levels depend on industrial client orders and market demand.
The opening of UBTECH's new factory highlights the rising global interest in humanoid robotics and manufacturing automation.
