Chinese satellites flew over Ukraine during the strike on October 5: what is known
According to glavcom.ua: During the Russian massive strike on October 5 over western Ukraine, which was the main target, at least three Chinese reconnaissance SAR satellites flew overhead. This was reported by the 'Militarnyi' portal, citing the Heavens Above service that tracks the movement of spacecraft.
Among the satellites monitoring the situation in Lviv were Yaogan 33, Yaogan 33-03, and Yaogan 33-04. Their passage over the western regions was recorded 9 times from 00:00 to approximately 11:30 AM. Optical reconnaissance satellites Yaogan 34 were also seen near Lviv around 6 AM.
It was noted that the Yaogan series satellites conduct reconnaissance across the entire territory of Ukraine. More than 60 satellites capable of performing various types of reconnaissance, including optical, radar, and electronic intelligence, are currently orbiting over the country.
A representative of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Oleg Oleksandrov, reported that China had been transmitting data from reconnaissance satellites to the Russians for strikes on Ukraine, particularly concerning foreign investor facilities. In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reacted to these accusations, claiming that nothing of the sort occurred.
Foreign and Ukrainian experts confirm that China is actively assisting Russia in the conflict with Ukraine, providing support in the form of dual-use products and technical cooperation with Russian arms manufacturers.
During the Russian attack on western Ukraine, Chinese reconnaissance satellites were spotted over the city of Lviv, monitoring the situation in the region. A representative of the Ukrainian intelligence stated that Chinese satellites were transmitting information to Russian troops, which is confirmed by foreign experts.
