The first 100 test units will be distributed to company employees by the end of May for use in their own homes. For context, GigaAI was founded in 2023 with backing from Huawei’s investment arm, and the robot was developed in collaboration with the Hubei Province Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center.

Mass Testing and Market Outlook

A large-scale free testing phase is scheduled for the first half of 2027 in Wuhan. The official market launch is expected in June 2027, with the SeeLight S1 priced at roughly $15,000. During demonstrations, the robot showcased its abilities by chopping vegetables, frying eggs, loading a washing machine, hanging laundry, making a bed, and opening curtains. A key safety feature is a system that instantly halts movement upon contact with a person or animal, making it safer for household use.

Shenzhen-based OneRobotics has signed a 45 million yuan contract for data collection, signaling strong interest in the home robot market. The global home robot industry was valued at about $41 billion last year and is projected to grow by roughly 20% annually through 2027. GigaAI is positioning the SeeLight S1 as a cornerstone of future domestic life, riding this wave of expansion.
