In Kyiv, the results of the latest water quality inspection at official beaches and recreational areas have been published. Most water bodies meet sanitary standards, however, in two locations, specialists found a deterioration in indicators, thus swimming there is not recommended. This is reported by the Health Department of the Kyiv City State Administration.

According to the results of laboratory studies by the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the water meets hygiene requirements at the following beaches:

  • «Central»;

  • «Pryrimsk Slobidka»;

  • «Youth»;

  • «Golden»;

  • «Venice»;

  • «Children's»;

  • «Rainbow»;

  • «Gallery»;

  • «Chortory»;

  • «Troieshchyna» on the Desenka River.

Also recognized as safe for recreation are recreational areas at Telbin Lake, in the «Natalka» bay and at Rainbow Lake (beach «Rainbow»).

During monitoring, specialists recorded exceedance of certain sanitary-chemical indicators in the «Harashykha» pond in Pushcha-Vodytsia and at Verbne Lake.

Due to a deterioration in water quality, residents and guests of the capital are advised to temporarily refrain from swimming in these water bodies.

The Health Department urged considering the results of laboratory studies while choosing a place for recreation and using official beaches where the water meets sanitary standards.

Monitoring of water quality in urban water bodies will continue throughout the entire summer season. At the same time, the beach season in Kyiv was not officially opened this year, although municipal services have prepared vacation spots for the summer.

Recall that in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, emergency rescue operations have been completed at the site of the strike on a 16-story residential building. As a result of the Russian attack on July 2, 31 people died and 102 were injured.
