The State Bureau of Investigation has begun an investigation against the former chairman of the Supreme Court over misappropriation and forgery

The investigative authorities of the State Bureau of Investigation have initiated a criminal proceeding in connection with the fact of misappropriation of someone else's property and official forgery in the case of the former chairman of the Supreme Court, Valentina Danishevskaya. This information was provided by the publication 'Glavkom', citing data from the judicial register.

According to preliminary data from the investigation, in October 2021, Danishevskaya attempted to resign due to length of service, presenting a certificate of 20 years of judicial experience to the High Council of Justice. However, her experience was insufficient, so she used a forged certificate from the HJC to resolve this issue.

The investigation believes that Danishevskaya's experience in her previous position cannot be counted towards her judicial experience, therefore she had no grounds for resigning and receiving a lifetime allowance.

Currently, the investigative authorities of the SBI have received permission to access the personal file of judge Valentina Danishevskaya with the possibility of making copies of the documents. On November 30, 2021, the High Council of Justice suspended Danishevskaya from her position as a judge of the Cassation Economic Court due to her resignation statement.

The SBI has begun an investigation against the former chairman of the Supreme Court on suspicion of misappropriation and forgery of documents related to her resignation. She had to use a forged certificate to attempt to retire due to length of service, which violated the rules. The investigation is ongoing, and the investigative authorities have access to the necessary documents to establish all the circumstances of the case.
