New treatment facilities are being built in Mykolaiv: when will drinking water be supplied to homes

Comprehensive improvement of the water supply system in Mykolaiv region

After the commissioning of the Mykolaiv water pipeline, less than a year later, it was time for the next stage of improving the water supply system. We are currently focusing on the construction of new treatment facilities that will allow us to provide residents of the city with drinking water - something they have been waiting for so long after the incident with the destruction of the main pipeline.

One of the important components of the system is the preliminary water treatment station in Mykolaiv. This complex is being built from scratch next to the outdated facilities that cannot be restored. The construction is being carried out without disconnecting residents from the water supply and is now 70% complete. It is planned that the work will be completed by the end of the current year.

Funding is provided from savings during the construction of the water pipeline. This allows us to continue investing in critical elements of the system without delays

At the same time, the construction of a complete biological and mechanical wastewater treatment station in Nova Odesa is ongoing. This advanced complex, which will operate using the latest technologies, will ensure environmentally safe water treatment. It is currently 80% ready and is an infrastructure that will provide high-quality water in the region and protect water resources from pollution.

In order to provide additional autonomy to the system and reduce dependence on the grid during peak loads, a solar power station with a capacity of 1.5 MW is being installed at the first section of the pipeline. 90% of the panels are already being installed, and the process of connecting them is ongoing.

The Mykolaiv water pipeline is an important example of the successful implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects even in the conditions of war and constant challenges. Thanks to preserving funds and savings from the project's price increase of 25%, we were able to finance the next stage of the drinking water preparation.
