Ukraine needs a large number of missiles, including short-range missiles, not just long-range systems like Patriot, claims Republican Congressman Don Bacon. He emphasized that Ukraine must be able to strike Russian military facilities in Russia, not civilian cities.

«We need to provide all these air defense capabilities that we talked about... We do not want to hit cities or civilian targets, but we want to strike the Russian military potential that helps them in their invasion of Ukraine,» Bacon explained.

The Congressman noted that only this way can pressure be applied to Putin to start serious negotiations. At the same time, he mentioned that Ukraine must be prepared for war with Russian troops.

The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee approved a defense budget that includes $500 million in aid for Ukraine. This document will be reviewed by Congress in the coming months.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine is actively working on the supply and production of new weapons in cooperation with partners. Additionally, military aid supplies from the U.S. have been restored.
