Champions League 2023/2024: who has the best chance of winning the final

In the dramatic semifinals of the tournament, the finalists have been determined. The Champions League 2023/2024 will conclude with a match between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund on June 1 at London's Wembley.

The unimaginable comeback of the 'whites' disrupted the German derby, which almost all viewers had tuned into, except for the most devoted Real fans. This final will be the 18th in the club's history. By the way, Real is the record holder for the most Champions League trophies – the team's hall of fame already has 14 trophies, and soon it may get its 15th. 

As for Borussia, they have won the champions' cup only once, back in 1997. 11 years ago, the team reached the final but lost to Bayern with a score of 2:1. 

According to experts, Real is the favorite of the Champions League 2023/2024:

• The Spaniards' win is rated at odds of 1.33;

• The Germans' victory - 3.60.

The statistics also favor the 'whites.' The team has won 8 consecutive final matches and has defeated the 'hornets' in the last two games, scoring three goals each time. 

Champions League matches: will Lunin play in the final

For Ukrainian fans, Real's advance to the final is another reason for joy and pride for Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who had an excellent season. This gaming year has been successful for Andriy in both La Liga and Champions League matches.

The goalkeeper, who had been sitting on the bench and traveling on loans, got his chance after Thibaut Courtois's injury and made the most of it. Particularly impressive is that he outperformed the world's most expensive goalkeeper - Kepa Arrizabalaga. However, as of now, Courtois has recovered, and the club's management, according to recent reports, leans towards his candidacy for the final game.

This season, Andriy has played 30 games, including 8 Champions League matches. He has conceded 28 goals (10 in the CL), and he kept a clean sheet in 12 matches - an outstanding result and a very high level. 

This final is also significant because it will be the last for several noteworthy players in their respective teams. Legendary Borussia captain Marco Reus will head to play in the American football league, and this is his only chance to win such an important trophy.

Real will say goodbye to two iconic footballers. It is already known that the club will part ways with Croatian Luka Modric and the team's current captain Nacho. According to media reports, Modric will continue his career in Saudi Arabia. As for Nacho, not much is known about his plans yet. Perhaps the player will move to Saudi Arabia or the USA.
