Lithuania Issues Formal Protest Against Russian Aggression

According to Главком: Lithuania has delivered a formal diplomatic protest to Russia, condemning its campaign of terror against Ukrainian civilians. The document cites specific Russian military attacks on Ukrainian territory that occurred in April. For instance, on April 7th, Russian forces struck a minibus with a drone in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in deaths and injuries. Rescue workers and medics managed to extricate and save seven people from the wreckage.

On the following day, April 9th, the Russian army struck a residential area in the town of Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv district, Kharkiv region, injuring civilians. Also on April 9th, a Nova Poshta postal branch in Novomykolaivka, Zaporizhzhia region, was destroyed by a Russian Geran-2 strike drone. That same day, Russian forces attacked a gas station in the Hlukhiv community, where two people were wounded. The injured received medical assistance and will be treated as outpatients.

'Today, Lithuania presented Russia with a protest note regarding its terrorist campaign against Ukrainian civilians. An attack on a market or a bus stop where civilians are present is a war crime,' stated the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This situation underscores the gravity and consequences of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, particularly in the context of attacks on civilian infrastructure. Lithuania, a Baltic nation, has been a staunch supporter of Ukraine since the 2022 invasion, viewing Russian actions as a direct threat to European security.

Lithuania's protest note is further evidence of the international response to Russia's aggressive actions in Ukraine, which continue to cause deep concern across Europe. The country actively supports Ukraine in its struggle for independence, considering Russia's aggression a threat not only to Ukraine but to the security of the entire European continent.
