Increased Financial Aid for Families of Fallen Soldiers
Separately, Lithuania has announced plans to increase financial support for the families of soldiers killed or missing in action. The minimum pension payment for each non-working family member will be no less than 12,810 Ukrainian hryvnias per person. For families with two or more children of a deceased soldier, the support per child will rise significantly to 10,020 hryvnias, up from the current 6,100 hryvnias. All payments will be subject to annual indexation starting March 1, 2027.
Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė, a representative of the campaign, noted: 'The public is aware of this initiative; we have repeatedly seen donations from both children and the elderly.'
The organization of this fundraiser for state-of-the-art robotic systems underscores Lithuania's active military support for Ukraine. Such technologies can substantially enhance operational effectiveness and help safeguard soldiers' lives. Concurrently, the boost in financial aid for the families of fallen personnel demonstrates Lithuania's social responsibility and commitment to assisting those affected by the war. These combined actions are likely to bolster morale within Ukraine and strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
