On Monday, October 6, experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency recorded several series of shelling near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the IAEA.

"Today, the IAEA team at the ZNPP heard several series of incoming and outgoing shelling in the area surrounding the facility. Two shells hit 1.25 km from the perimeter of the facility. The shelling increases nuclear safety risks at the ZNPP, which has not had external power supply for almost two weeks," said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

It is worth noting that on September 23, the Zaporizhzhia NPP experienced its tenth blackout since the station was occupied by the Russians. It continues to this day.The international environmental organization Greenpeace Ukraine published a new satellite study that refutes Russia's claims that the power outage at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) occurred as a result of strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Experts concluded that the loss of power supply is a deliberate act of sabotage by Russia aimed at disconnecting the station from Ukraine's energy system and further connecting it to the occupied network.

As reported, the Russian Federation deliberately disconnected the electricity at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. The Kremlin wants to conduct a test for further connecting the station to its energy system.

In conclusion, the shelling near the Zaporizhzhia NPP raises the threat to nuclear safety at the facility, while the Greenpeace satellite study attributes the blame for the power outage to Russia, citing deliberate sabotage to connect the station to the occupied network.
