Wimbledon Quarterfinals Set: Marta Kostyuk Achieves New Milestone

According to Главком: The women's singles Round of 16 matches at Wimbledon have concluded, finalizing all quarterfinal pairings. Ukraine's second-ranked player, Marta Kostyuk, has advanced to the quarterfinals of this prestigious tournament for the first time in her career, defeating American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger 6-4, 6-4. Her next opponent will be Italy's Jasmine Paolini, a finalist at the 2024 French Open. This marks a significant breakthrough for the 21-year-old Ukrainian on grass courts.

All eight quarterfinalists are seeded players. In other matchups, world No. 4 Jessica Pegula will face Coco Gauff. Should Kostyuk beat Paolini, she would reach the semifinals, where she would meet the winner of the Linda Noskova versus Elise Mertens match. The quarterfinals are scheduled for July 7 and 8 at Wimbledon. The first day features matches between Osaka and Muchova, as well as Pegula and Gauff, while Kostyuk's clash with Paolini takes place on July 8, starting no earlier than 3:00 PM Kyiv time.

This is incredible, I still can't believe it happened. The longer you stay on this surface, the worse you feel. It was very windy, and Ashlyn is amazing-she's already played her seventh match on this grass-I'm in awe of that.
