Russia attacked Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia: casualties and destruction reported

Russia launched massive attacks on Ukraine with missiles and drones, resulting in fires in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. It has been reported that there are already casualties in the capital. Zaporizhzhia was also attacked twice overnight, causing significant destruction and injuries among local residents.
On the night of September 28, Russia's attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles was recorded. Incidents occurred in different parts of the city:
- Solomyanskyi district - partial destruction of a residential building;
- Sviatoshynskyi district - debris falling onto the territory and non-residential buildings;
- Holosiivskyi district - destruction of a private house;
- Darnytskyi district - damage to a homestead;
- Dniprovskyi district - car fires.
Emergency services are working at the sites of the events. The attack resulted in casualties, who were taken to hospitals for assistance.
Strikes on the Kyiv region
Meanwhile, the occupiers attacked the Kyiv region with drones. The head of the Kyiv OVA Mykola Kalashnyk reported on the consequences of the attack in four districts:
- Bucha district - buildings and vehicles caught fire;
- Fastiv district - fire in a house;
- Bila Tserkva district - houses ignited;
- Obukhiv district - falling debris caused a fire.
All services are working to eliminate the aftermath of the attack.
Russian losses in Zaporizhzhia
On the night of September 28, Russia conducted a second shelling of Zaporizhzhia. The head of the Zaporizhia OVA Ivan Fedorov reported an attempted attack on the city's critical infrastructure.
The incidents led to damage to buildings and homes, fires, and injuries among residents. Russians launched at least four strikes, resulting in significant material losses.
Trump to meet with congressional leaders
U.S. President Donald Trump plans to meet with congressional leaders on Monday, September 29, to discuss funding and avoid a government 'shutdown.' The presence of the five highest leaders will discuss possible options for resolving the situation.
NATO to strengthen mission in the Baltic Sea
In light of the incidents with drones in the Baltic Sea, NATO has decided to strengthen its mission in the region. The decision involves the engagement of additional resources to increase control and protection of the territory.
- Platforms for reconnaissance, surveillance, and scouting;
- Anti-air frigate.
Recent events indicate an escalation of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Unfortunately, these attacks lead to serious consequences for the civilian population and the infrastructure of the shelled territories. The opening of additional fronts in the conflict encourages the international community to take further measures to stop aggression and protect Ukraine.
