Pension reform in Ukraine: why most will not be able to retire at 60

PFU requires more years of experience
Багато українців стикаються з викликами виходу на пенсію у віці 60 років через зміни в законодавстві.

According to the Pension Fund, Ukrainians now have to work longer before they can enjoy their well-deserved rest. The requirement for insurance experience to retire at 60 years is increasing. Currently, one must have at least 32 years of experience, and from 2026 this requirement will rise to 33 years.

Experts emphasize that accurate accounting of experience is important. Until 2004, it was documented in employment books, and after the transition to periodic contributions, it will be necessary to work practically all life without long interruptions to meet the requirements.

Ukrainians are facing the need to work more years to be able to retire. It is important to keep precise records of years of experience, as this affects the ability to obtain a well-deserved rest.

After the introduction of new rules with increasing requirements for insurance experience, many Ukrainians may change their pension plans and calculations for the future.
