Mykola Milovanov Leaves the Supervisory Board of Energoatom: Reasons for His Resignation

Milovanov Resigns from the Supervisory Board of 'Energoatom'
Микола Мілованов покидає наглядову раду компанії Energoatom: розгляд причин його відставки.

Mykola Milovanov, the well-known president of the Kyiv School of Economics and former minister of economy, is leaving the supervisory board of 'Energoatom'. He submitted a letter of resignation from the board, proposing to hold an extraordinary meeting to temporarily suspend officials who are under investigation and to create an independent committee to review procurement procedures. There were also plans to involve international experts and conduct a forensic audit.

“The decision has been made, but it leaves much to be desired. It has become a formality... It reflects deep inefficiency,” Milovanov explained.

Milovanov also expressed his disappointment that the government and the supervisory board of 'Energoatom' did not facilitate the investigations of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. It should be noted that recently, national anti-corruption officials conducted searches in the homes of several officials, including former energy minister Herman Haluschenko and businessman Timur Mindich.

Through all these actions, Milovanov aimed to increase transparency and provoke reforms within the 'Energoatom' system, but his proposed steps met with limited resonance among the company's leadership.
