The USA and Ukraine ramp up pressure on Russia: new sanctions and negotiations

Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the G7 meeting in Canada. They talked about peace in the region and sanctions against Russia.

Ukraine supports President Trump's peace efforts and sanctions against Russia. Sybiha stressed the importance of raising the cost of war for Putin to force Russia to end the conflict.

The minister also provided Rubio with updated information on the battlefield situation, peace initiatives, and priorities in strengthening Ukraine's defense and energy resilience. The Secretary of State noted that the USA continues to work with partners to achieve a peaceful resolution of the conflict with Russia.

The meeting between Minister Sybiha and Secretary of State Rubio in Canada confirmed the joint efforts of Ukraine and the USA on the path to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the region, as well as the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia.
