Ukraine demands new sanctions against the Russian Federation: what the EU will adopt
According to МЗС: Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha participated in the meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers' Council. He informed European colleagues about the situation on the battlefield, reforms, and the fight against corruption.
Andriy Sybiha drew attention to the intensification of Russian terror and expressed key needs for strengthening the defense and resilience of Ukraine and Europe. He thanked for the solidarity in light of the horrific Russian strike in Ternopil, which killed 26 people, including 3 children.
The minister highlighted three strategic priorities for Ukrainian defense: strengthening air defense, long-range capabilities, and Ukraine's defense industry. He emphasized the importance of new agreements regarding air defense and investments in weapons production in Ukraine.

The minister called on partners to accelerate work on a new package of EU sanctions against Russia and to complement the sanctions policy with tariff restrictions. Including Ukrainian production capacities in the plans of EU states is mutually beneficial and will contribute to security.
Andriy Sybiha emphasized the importance of fighting corruption and reforming the Ukrainian government. Membership in the EU is a guarantee of security for Ukraine, and the military experience of the Ukrainian army will be useful for the future of Europe.
Recalling the tragedy in Ternopil and the murdered Ukrainian children, the minister called for holding Putin and his accomplices accountable.
At the EU Foreign Ministers' Council meeting during a time of deepening crisis in relations between Ukraine and Russia, the representative of Ukraine expressed determination and choice for the country's European future, calling for unity and effective measures to ensure peace and security in the region.
