Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sibiga on Ghanaian citizen in captivity: we will ensure access for diplomats
Ukraine's Reaction to Ghana's Concerns
According to Главком: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiga responded to Ghana's concerns regarding the return of a citizen of that country captured in the conflict zone. He confirmed the readiness to ensure access for Ghanaian diplomats to the prisoners of war, including a Ghanaian citizen named Joshua, who was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Situation with Joshua
Joshua worked as a fire inspector in Dubai, where he submitted documents to the Moscow University 'Synergy'. To study at the university, he needed to pay another $2100. After signing the contract, Joshua found himself in Donetsk. It is known that South Africans caught up in the war in Ukraine claim they were deceived into participating in the conflict on the side of Russia.
Andrii Sibiga emphasized that Ukraine strives for cooperation with the Ghanaian side in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect. The minister noted that he would ensure appropriate access for diplomats, which could contribute to resolving the situation and bringing Joshua back home.
This situation underscores the importance of cooperation between states on issues related to prisoners of war and the rights of citizens caught in difficult circumstances. Interaction between Ukraine and Ghana could become a positive example of diplomatic conflict resolution that arises in the context of international military actions.
