The Ministry of Defense launched DOT-Chain Defence: how the weapons marketplace reduced procurement times from months to weeks
According to hvylya.net: The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the successful implementation of a new digital system called DOT-Chain Defence, which acts as a kind of weapons marketplace for the military.
'This solution from the Ministry of Defense eliminated unnecessary bureaucracy in procurement and gave brigades real autonomy: military personnel can select the necessary drones in just a few clicks, without lengthy approvals and paperwork. Financial, legal, and logistical issues are handled by the 'Defense Procurement Agency', which has reduced delivery times from months to weeks. The record is just 5 days,' the agency noted.
It was noted that the pilot phase of the program, with a budget of 600 million UAH, has already demonstrated high potential: from July 31, 12 brigades received more than 11,800 drones worth 416 million UAH.
'Next, we are working on expanding the range of equipment and engaging new units. The Ministry of Defense is implementing elements of decentralization in support and is making purchases simple, fast, and convenient,' the message states.
The unique digital system DOT-Chain Defence allowed the Ministry of Defense to remove bureaucratic obstacles in military weapon procurement, provide greater autonomy to brigades, and reduce delivery times, significantly simplifying the process of supplying military personnel with necessary equipment.
