Mobilization for Those Under 25: In What Cases Can They Be Drafted
Mobilization in Ukraine is regulated by legislation that defines the categories of individuals subject to conscription for military service. Men aged from 25 to 60 are generally subject to the mandatory mobilization rule. However, there are exceptions when conscription can occur even before reaching the age of 25. In particular, we learned that mobilization for those under 25 predominantly concerns men who hold the status of being subject to military service. Individuals aged 18 to 24 are given the opportunity to serve voluntarily through a special program 'Contract 18-24'. However, it is widely recognized that draftees under the age of 25 should not undergo a military-medical commission without a corresponding summons or referral. In light of this, it is worth noting that Ukraine is preparing for a financial reform for the Armed Forces with a new motivation system to improve the functioning of the military.
