Mobile operators blocked 59 thousand spam numbers: how to protect your phone
Combating Spam in Ukraine
According to ХВИЛЯ: In Ukraine, mobile operators have blocked 59071 spam numbers in three months since receiving new powers on October 2. These measures were introduced to enhance subscriber protection from unwanted calls and messages.
According to the new rules, operators are required to check a suspicious number after a complaint from a subscriber. This allows for a prompt response to spam cases and reduces their number.
Ways to Report a Spam Number
Subscribers can use three methods to report a spam number:
- contact their operator directly,
- call the government hotline 1545,
- leave a message on the website of the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Transport (NCCRT).
These actions contribute to improving spam control and increasing the security level for mobile communication users.
The implementation of new rules for blocking spam numbers is an important step in the fight against unwanted calls in Ukraine. It not only reduces the number of such cases but also increases subscriber trust in mobile operators. Government support in the form of a hotline and the ability to file complaints on various platforms also indicates a commitment to ensuring the security of mobile communication users.
