Young doctors will receive 200,000 hryvnias for working in villages
Young doctors who complete their internship and are ready to work in rural or front-line communities can count on state support – a one-time payment of 200,000 UAH. This initiative by the Government aims to attract medical professionals to regions lacking specialists, providing quality medical care where it is most needed. The program is available for graduates of 20 state higher education institutions under the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, and will last until the end of martial law. This is reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Who of the doctors will be able to receive a one-time payment of 200,000 hryvnias
To receive the payment, a doctor must find a vacancy on the Unified Web Portal of Medical Workers, contact a healthcare institution in a rural area or in a combat zone, and check two conditions: the staffing of medical positions does not exceed 75% and the institution is willing to sign a three-year contract.
If the requirements are met, the medical professional signs a contract, and the institution issues a confirmation letter in accordance with the regulation. The payment is also available for those who have already been employed after their internship in such a medical facility.
How to apply for a state grant for doctors
To apply for the grant by October 10, the following documents must be submitted to the higher education institution where the internship was completed:
-
An application addressed to the rector (in any form);
-
A confirmation letter from the medical institution;
-
Copies of the diploma and certificate (if there is no data in the Unified State Register of Education);
-
A copy of the employment record or an extract from the Register of Insured Persons;
-
A copy of the contract with the medical institution.
Documents can be submitted in person or to the official email of the higher education institution. Contacts are available on the MoH website. The higher education institution reviews the application and issues an order for the payment, which will be received by the end of the budget year.
Conditions for returning the grant to the state
However, there is a nuance: in case of resignation at will, by mutual consent, or due to violation of obligations, the funds will need to be returned within 10 days. Exceptions include: closure of the institution, force majeure, disability of the I-II group in the doctor or relatives, conscription to the army.
Analysts predict that by 2026, the program will cover another 2,000 specialists if martial law ends.
