Weather Forecast for January 20, 2023
According to ХВИЛЯ: A severe cold snap is expected to grip Ukraine on January 20, 2023. Nighttime temperatures are forecast to plummet to between -12°C and -18°C, with some regions potentially seeing lows of -20°C. Daytime highs will only reach -6°C to -11°C. An anticyclone will dominate, bringing clear skies and no precipitation. Such extreme cold poses significant risks to health and infrastructure.
Meteorologists predict a light to moderate wind from the west or northwest. In Kyiv, the day is expected to be dry and bitterly cold, necessitating caution for anyone venturing outdoors.

However, this temporary respite may bring its own weather challenges. She also warned against complacency, as severe frosts could return by late January or early February. Therefore, Ukrainians should prepare for continued cold weather, which forecasters say will not disappear entirely but will fluctuate in intensity.
