Language Ombudsman Kremen stated about the threat to his institution

Language Ombudsman Taras Kremen confirmed receiving threats and expressed outrage over potential security issues for the institution of the language ombudsman after the end of his term. Kremen was not granted a second term in office, and he will begin considering proposals for future professional steps.

“I have received threats of violence, but even in such cases, the institution of the language ombudsman must have reliable protection. Now, as the selection of the next commissioner takes place during a difficult time for Ukraine, it is important to ensure stability and security in this area,” emphasized Taras Kremen.

Kremen also mentioned that threats came to him through social networks and comments, but he plans to focus on scientific and educational opportunities in the future related to his professional experience.

Taras Kremen emphasized the seriousness of the situation and the ongoing concern about the future of the Ukrainian institution of the language ombudsman, highlighting the importance of protecting such institutions during difficult times for the country.
