Advanced Medical Equipment Donated to Aid Wounded Soldiers

According to МЗС: Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the 'Yellow-Blue Cross' charity, has provided the Military Hearing Restoration Center with a new Zeiss Extaro M surgical microscope. This critical piece of equipment will enable the center to perform over 230 free hearing restoration surgeries annually for service members, a significant increase from the previous capacity of 150. Hearing loss is a common injury among soldiers exposed to battlefield explosions.

The Military Hearing Restoration Center operates within the Rhino Center and is supported by the 'Pivnyk' (Rooster) Charitable Foundation, which covers the full cost of these operations for Ukrainian defenders. During a formal ceremony, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha presented the 'Amber Heart' award to Linda Mai, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Cologne and head of the 'Yellow-Blue Cross' organization.

Diplomacy cannot stand aside when it comes to the lives, health, and dignity of our people, especially our military personnel. Therefore, projects and initiatives supporting our defenders are an unconditional priority for me as Minister.

The Impact of the Donation

This initiative marks a vital step in providing essential medical care to Ukrainian soldiers who require hearing rehabilitation after their service. By significantly increasing surgical capacity, more veterans will be able to access the specialized help they need, underscoring the joint commitment of the state and charitable organizations to support the country's defenders.

Continued international cooperation in this field is also expected to further enhance medical services and rehabilitation pathways for veterans.
