Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Urges Embassies to Fundraise for Energy Grid
Supporting Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure
According to Главком: In response to the urgent need for financial resources to ensure the stable operation of Ukraine's energy facilities, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has directed the nation's diplomatic missions abroad to initiate emergency fundraising campaigns. This directive underscores the critical state of the country's power system, which has been a primary target of attacks since the full-scale invasion began.
One successful initiative is the Polish project 'Heat for Kyiv,' which has already raised over 40 million hryvnias with the participation of nearly 24,000 donors. Such campaigns help mobilize the international support necessary for Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which currently relies heavily on three nuclear power plants:
- Rivne
- South Ukraine
- Khmelnytskyi
Furthermore, Germany has allocated 60 million euros for winter and energy assistance to Ukraine. It is also important to note that other nations, including Norway, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Austria, have also made commitments to support Ukraine's energy sector. These steps demonstrate international solidarity and the readiness of partners to assist Ukraine during this difficult period.
This initiative and the international support highlight the critical importance of energy stability for Ukraine in the face of current challenges.

Given the ongoing crisis, the acceleration of fundraising and support from other countries could be decisive in preserving the energy infrastructure, which is vital for the daily lives of the population and the nation's economic development.
