Україна лідирує в Європі за цінами на електроенергію протягом місяця, займаючи перше місце 16 разів.

In August of this year, Ukraine ranked first 16 times for the average daily index price BASE in the electricity market 'day ahead' (RDN).

This is evidenced by data from the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity ENTSOE

According to ENTSOE, Ukraine led this indicator among 26 European countries from August 2-4, 6, 8-11, 13-14, 17-19, and 29-31. As of August 31, the highest price index for basic electricity load BASE on RDN in Ukraine amounted to 5,101.38 UAH/MWh. The lowest was recorded in France – 908.55 UAH/MWh.

At the same time, the price index for the basic load BASE on RDN in Ukraine for 20 days in August 2025 amounted to 5,409.89 UAH/MWh, which is an 8.1% increase compared to the same period in July (5,005.05 UAH/MWh), continuing the trend of price growth for the second month in a row.

In July, Ukraine led the price index BASE on RDN among 27 European countries five times (July 18, 27-30), in June six times (June 1, 7, 8, 10, 28, and 29), in May eleven times (May 1-8, 11, 17, and 25), and in April five times (April 16, 17, 27, 28, and 29). For the last month, the leader in the BASE price index was Italy (August 1, 5, 7, 12, 15-16, 23-25, 27).

According to the results of 2024, Ukraine ranked third among 27 European countries with a BASE index on RDN amounting to 4,522.87 UAH/MWh calculated based on the Central European Time (CET).

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has a significant potential for the development of wind energy, but it is hindered by a lack of tax incentives. Ukrainian wind turbine manufacturers meet only up to 10% of market demand, and their equipment is mostly used for their own projects.
