In Kharkiv region, poachers caught crayfish worth 3 million UAH
According to glavcom.ua: Fish guards in Kharkiv region detected two poachers who illegally caught crayfish during the fishing ban. The damage to the fish stock is estimated at 3 million hryvnias.
The first case was discovered at the Vilkhivske reservoir, where the offender caught 138 crayfish. The second case occurred in the Bohodukhiv district, where a man used 100 crayfish traps to catch 781 crayfish. Both offenders are being issued administrative protocols, and materials are being prepared for opening criminal cases.
The seized crayfish were returned to their natural habitat. It is worth reminding that during the second molting period, there is a ban on catching them from August 15 to September 30. Ukrainian fishermen should remember that September is an excellent time for fishing, as active biting begins and favorable weather for trips to water bodies.
