Stolen in Belgium two years earlier, the truck was listed in both the Schengen Information System (SIS) and Interpol’s database. Belgian authorities had been searching for the vehicle for nearly two years, with an estimated value of 70,000 Polish zloty-equivalent to over 800,000 Ukrainian hryvnia.
The driver, a 42-year-old Ukrainian citizen, was questioned as a witness in the case. After the interrogation, he was allowed to cross the border. The truck has been impounded pending further investigation.
