Tragedy in Kozyatyn: rescuers retrieved a body with no signs of life

According to glavcom.ua: Today, September 26, in the city of Kozyatyn, Khmelnytskyi district of Vinnytsia region, rescuers retrieved a body of a person without signs of life from a local pond. This was reported by

The deceased turned out to be a 52-year-old resident of the village of Kozyatyn. Currently, all circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated by the National Police.

Water Safety Rules

The State Emergency Service once again urges citizens to be as careful as possible near water bodies and reminds: in case of danger, you should immediately call the Emergency Service at number 101.

The State Emergency Service reminds the rules of behavior in water:

• Resting on the water (swimming, boating) should only be done in specially designated and equipped places.
• It is safer to rest on the water during daylight hours.
• Swimming is allowed in calm, windless weather with a wind speed of up to 10 m/s, with water temperature not lower than +18°C, air temperature not lower than +24°C.
• It is recommended to undergo a medical examination before swimming.
• After eating, swimming is only allowed after at least 1.5–2 hours.
• You should enter the water slowly, allowing your body to adapt to the change in air and water temperature.
• Do not stay in the water for more than 15 minutes.
• After swimming, it is not recommended to sunbathe, it is better to rest in the shade.
• It is not recommended to swim alone near steep, precipitate, and densely vegetated shores.
• Before jumping into the water, make sure of the safety of the bottom and the sufficient depth of the water body.
• Diving is allowed only where there is sufficient depth, clear water, and a flat bottom.
• Boating (small vessel) is only permitted after obtaining permission and registration with the duty officer at the boat station.
