Applications for Eurovision 2026 are open: how to apply and who cannot
According to glavcom.ua: The organizers of the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 have opened applications. You can submit an application for eight weeks - from September 3 to October 27, 2025. This was reported by 'Glavkom', referring to 'Suspilne Broadcasting', which is responsible for organizing the contest in our country.

It should be noted that according to the rules of the National Selection, artists who have performed in Russia since 2014 and in Belarus since 2022 are not allowed to participate. Because of this, many top artists cannot submit their applications.
Requirements and conditions for participation in the National Selection
Among other requirements, artists who will be 16 years old by May 3, 2026, can participate in the National Selection. They cannot participate in selections held by other Eurovision participating countries. Based on the results of the auditions, a list of finalists will be chosen by December 15, consisting of up to 9 performers.
Among the longlist participants (15 artists) who do not make it to the finalists, there will be an online voting that will determine one more participant for the final. The final of the National Selection will take place in February 2026. The winner, as in previous years, will be determined by the results of voting by the jury and the audience.
The National Selection for Eurovision 2026 has started accepting applications from artists who wish to represent Ukraine in the international competition. The conditions for participation are clearly defined and provide for the selection of the best performers who will have the opportunity to compete for victory in the National Selection and further in Eurovision. An important requirement is not only age but also the absence of performances by artists in certain territories, which is a relevant topic in modern politics. All these rules make the selection unique and fair for all participants.
