Attack on the Recruitment Center in Rivne region: serviceman with serious injuries in the hospital

According to Главком: On December 24, 2023, a notification group from the Sarnensky District Recruitment Center and SP was attacked by aggressively inclined citizens. As a result of the attack, one serviceman was seriously injured, including a broken rib and bruises on both lungs. The condition of the wounded is assessed as serious, and he is in the hospital.

Information about the incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Article 350 part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An investigation is currently underway, aimed at clarifying the circumstances of the attack and bringing those responsible to justice.

Statements from the Operational Command

Representatives of the Operational Command 'West' stated that such actions are a direct obstruction to the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are related to violence against servicemen. They emphasized that mobilization measures can cause fear, tension, and questions, but no discussion grants the right to violence. It was also noted that obstructing mobilization measures is a crime.

Olga Reshetylova, representative of the Operational Command, added that problems and mistakes in the mobilization process cannot be an excuse for attacks on Ukrainian servicemen who are fulfilling a critically important duty for the state.

The legal regime of martial law is still in effect in Ukraine, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

This incident underscores the tension and resistance that may arise in society during mobilization measures, especially under conditions of martial law.
