Photo session on Zaporizhzhia waterfront
В Запоріжжі відновлено зйомку весільних фото після розбиття дрону-камікадзе.

Incidents in Zaporizhzhia

According to Главком: In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian Shahed kamikaze drone was intercepted during a wedding photoshoot. Photographer Eduard Kovsh captured the moment the drone was taken down and shared the video on Instagram. After air defense forces successfully destroyed the enemy drone, the newlyweds carried on with their photo session without interruption.

Separately, on June 7, a Ukrainian Railways locomotive came under attack from an enemy drone in Zaporizhzhia, resulting in damage to the main electric train. That same day, Russian forces also shelled the settlement of Balabyne, located on the outskirts of the city. The shelling targeted a private residential area, creating a dangerous situation for local residents.

Staying Safe During Air Raid Alerts

Experts remind the public that being outdoors during an air raid alert can be hazardous due to the risk of falling debris from intercepted targets. Rescue workers and military officials urge the population to:

  • stay away from drone wreckage;
  • avoid touching unexploded ordnance.
“This is what weddings look like in Zaporizhzhia,” remarked photographer Eduard Kovsh.

This incident highlights the dangers civilians face amid ongoing hostilities. Despite uplifting moments like the continuation of a wedding celebration, the reality of military conflict remains ever-present. Attacks on civilian infrastructure-such as railway equipment-and shelling of populated areas underscore the persistent threat to local communities, demanding vigilance and readiness for potential dangers.

While the wedding photoshoot resumed amid the chaos, the situation in Zaporizhzhia remains precarious. Just a day earlier, an overnight attack injured a father and his 10-year-old son, illustrating the ongoing risks faced by civilians in the area. Such incidents serve as a stark reminder of the dangers that persist, even during moments of celebration.
