According to hvylya.net: The host of the British car show Mike Brewer expressed his thoughts on the state of modern cars. He pointed out the growing technical complexity of new vehicles and the decreasing interest of owners in taking care of them – for many, it is easier to purchase a new vehicle than to repair the existing one.

Brewer believes that the turning point was the Audi A2 model, whose design did not foresee the possibility of fully opening the hood. Owners were provided with only a small technical hatch for access to specific components.

The TV presenter sees this as the beginning of a trend where car manufacturers intentionally complicate the possibility of self-service maintenance. He notes negative changes in the attitude of car enthusiasts towards their vehicles, emphasizing that even fairly new cars are returned to dealers in miserable condition.

Brewer also points to the increasing amount of plastic elements in the under-hood space of modern cars, which, in his opinion, indicates the intention of car manufacturers to complicate drivers' self-involvement in the technical aspects of their vehicles.

“They say: don't get involved, leave everything as it is, come to us – and we'll charge you for it,” the expert noted.

As a result, the conclusion is clear: the automotive industry is becoming increasingly complex for owners, which may lead to rising costs for car repair and maintenance.
