According to hvylya.net: The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has increased pension supplements for fighters for independence of the 20th century to 5,050 hryvnias. The law providing for these payments came into effect in 2023. According to it, those who suffered from repression during the communist regime will receive an additional pension for their special merits to Ukraine.
In 2025, the amount of the monthly supplement for fighters for independence increased to 5,050 hryvnias after the indexing of these payments. Supporting documents are mandatory to receive this payment. If a person has several grounds for receiving the supplement, they will receive it in the maximum amount according to the law.
Additional payments are an important step in supporting and remembering those who sacrificed for Ukraine's independence and suffered during the totalitarian regime.
