Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is quite skeptical about the constant conversations of French leader Emmanuel Macron with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

However, according to the Ukrainian president, Macron 'has the right to act as he wishes'. Zelensky stated this in an interview with LCI.

'But this has been going on since 2019. I don’t think it brings results,' said Zelensky.

Currently, according to him, the most important thing that interests Ukraine is the liberation of its land from Russian invaders.

'At this moment, we will have to talk to Russia, which is willing to respect its interlocutor, and this starts with returning to us what belongs to us under international law. I would be ready to negotiate with such a Russia. But not with the Russia we have now, a Nazi Russia,' emphasized Zelensky.

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed at a meeting of the European Council in Brussels that he would soon call Putin again to discuss the war in Ukraine.

There is an agreement on the withdrawal of heavy weaponry from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Negotiations on its terms are currently ongoing. We managed to protect Chernobyl, and our goal is to protect Zaporizhzhia, said French President Emmanuel Macron at the international conference dedicated to aiding Ukraine during the winter period.

A group of Eastern flank countries of the European Union officially expressed outrage over the words of French President Emmanuel Macron regarding security guarantees for Russia.
