Not only pensioners: who among Ukrainians can travel by train for free

According to hvylya.net: Recently, 'Khvylya' informed Ukrainians about who has the opportunity to take advantage of free travel on trains; this information was spread by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Unfortunately, a significant number of citizens of Ukraine are unaware that they can benefit from various types of travel privileges on railway transport. 'Ukrzaliznytsia' continues to provide benefits for certain categories of the population, including pensioners, disabled individuals, students, military personnel, and others.

A system of various benefits is in place that helps significantly reduce travel costs on railway transport in Ukraine. To receive a discounted fare or a free ticket, a passenger must have the appropriate documents confirming their belonging to a privileged category.

In particular, completely free travel is provided to children under the age of six. Other privileged categories can benefit from either ticket discounts or a certain number of free trips.

On suburban trains, there are also preferential fares for students and passengers with disabilities. Before traveling, it is recommended to familiarize oneself in advance with the conditions for receiving benefits and the restrictions regarding certain categories of carriages.
