Zelensky: Ukraine will receive 150 Gripen fighters – the first ones next year

Ukraine, in collaboration with Sweden, plans to significantly increase its combat aviation. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky on his Telegram channel, as reported by 'Khvylya'.

Currently, it is a historic step – an agreement with Sweden regarding the 'Gripen' combat aircraft, and it is a good choice. We are counting on 150 such aircraft for Ukraine, and the first ones are expected to arrive next year.

According to Zelensky, this is an important task that needs to be completed. He emphasized that the Swedish Gripen E fighters could significantly strengthen Ukraine's combat aviation. The president stressed that this is a historic achievement and everything possible is being done for its full implementation.

Such air forces will be able to protect our sky one hundred percent. There has never been such a large-scale contract for combat aviation for Ukraine. A historic achievement. We are working to fully implement it. Sweden, thank you!
