Combined Night Assault on the Capital

According to Главком: A coordinated nighttime bombardment by Russian forces has left one person dead and 44 wounded across Kyiv. The attack, which occurred on the night of May 24, involved a massive volley of ballistic missiles and drones, causing damage in every district of the city.

Aftermath and Casualties

The assault targeted civilian infrastructure and residential buildings. The number of injured nearly doubled compared to earlier morning reports. Authorities confirmed one fatality: a resident whose body was recovered from the rubble of a destroyed five-story building in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The total number of wounded has reached 44. Medical teams hospitalized 28 people, including two children in moderate condition. Three adult patients are in serious condition, while 16 others received on-site treatment and will continue care as outpatients.

During the night of May 24, Russia launched a massive strike that killed one Kyiv resident and injured 21 others. The deceased, a man from the Shevchenkivskyi district, was inside a nine-story apartment building that was hit by a projectile. Among the 21 injured on May 24 was a 15-year-old teenager. Thirteen people were hospitalized that same day, three of them in serious condition. Eight victims received medical attention at the scene.

“It was a terrible night for Kyiv... Rescue workers are now extinguishing fires and clearing debris. Medics are providing aid to the injured,” said Vitali Klitschko.

This attack is part of Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, which has persisted since the conflict began. The toll on civilians is devastating, as such strikes undermine both physical safety and psychological stability. Kyiv’s authorities are calling for international support to ensure the security of residents and to rebuild the damaged infrastructure.

The recent assault on Kyiv is part of a broader pattern of attacks on residential areas, which have increasingly targeted both homes and industrial sites. In a similar incident, several residential buildings and an industrial zone were struck in the Kyiv region, resulting in numerous casualties.
