As reported by the publication 'Golos Karpat', the sharpest jump was demonstrated by potatoes, the price of which has risen by 150 percent. Food prices in Ukraine have risen significantly during the years of war, with the most noticeable increases in basic categories such as vegetables, meat, dairy products, and eggs.

Increase in meat and mushroom prices

The meat market has also seen a noticeable rise in prices. According to the 'Institute of Agrarian Economics', last year the prices for beef ribs increased by over 7 percent, reaching 168.95 hryvnias per kilogram, while the price for goulash increased by almost a fifth to 301.32 hryvnias. Chicken prices have also risen: fillets cost up to 172.63 hryvnias per kilogram, and thighs up to 121.63 hryvnias. However, the price for whole chicken remains stable at 85.60 hryvnias.

Another example is the increase in prices for wild mushrooms, which had been a source of additional income for many residents of the Carpathians. Prices for fresh mushrooms started at 150 hryvnias per kilogram, while dried mushrooms cost between 1500 and 1800 hryvnias per kilogram.
