Scandal at UCU: Lecturer Claims Priest Died Because of LGBT Flag
According to glavcom.ua: A scandal erupted at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) due to posts by PhD holder Yuriy Pidlisny in social media about the 'death of the priest' Nazariy Zatorsky. He published a photo of the priest sitting on a bench painted in the colors of the LGBT flag.
The priest Zatorsky, who belongs to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, believes this episode revealed the conservative side of UCU and the UGCC, which alienates many Christian intellectuals. He noted that after the incident with a female student who was denied accommodation due to the LGBT flag, more than 15 people were denied without confirmed reasons.
«Ukrainian Catholic University, is this normal for you with the antics of your lecturer? Is this the kind of Christian love and morality that Mr. Yuriy Pidlisny preaches? With such lecturers, it's no wonder there was a scandal with Paraska Kurochkin. It is very strange that a similar scandal did not explode earlier», – commented priest Zatorsky.
The Ukrainian Catholic University came under public scrutiny due to the conflict surrounding the lecturer that sparked outrage and divided opinions within the university community.
